Haugesund hospital for rheumatic diseases (HSR) is a specialist hospital for patients with rheumatic diseases, ortopedic operations and for patients with skin diseases.
Our primary task is assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and, if necessary, surgery of patients with rheumatic diseases. We conduct approximately 1.000 ortopedic operations annually in our modern operation department. We also give treatment to all kind of skin diseases, and have drop-in service for STDs. We also conduct research, training of patients and relatives and training of health personnel.
We build our business on the best available knowledge, and we continuously evaluate and improve our treatments in accordance with the needs of both users and society. The hospital has about 180 employees, including the subsidiary Rehabilitering Vest AS.
Haugesund hospital for rheumatic diseases is a private, non-profit Ltd.-institution that has an operating agreement with the Western Norway Regional Health Authority, Helse Vest. The hospital is owned by Haugesund Sanitetsforening, a subsidiary of Norwegian Women's Public Health Association.
